The expedition
As the dry season takes hold, the water in Minneriya’s ancient reservoir draws back and fresh grass grows on the shore. Elephants arrive from across the region, sometimes hundreds in a single evening.
Day by day
- Day 1
Into elephant country
Arrive in Habarana and take an evening safari wherever the herds have gathered.
- Days 2–3
Following the herds
Morning and evening drives across Minneriya, Kaudulla and Hurulu, chosen each day by where the elephants are.
- Day 4
Last light & onward
A final drive, then onward to your next stop or the airport.
