About Wildbound

Two photographers, one island

Wildbound is run by Toshan Wijeratne and Udara Karunarathna. We shoot wildlife here in Sri Lanka and around the world, and we built Wildbound to share the places and moments we know best.

Our story

An island of impossible density

A photographer at work in a field of purple lupins

Few places on earth pack this much wild into so little ground. In a single trip you can watch a leopard drink at dusk in Yala, stand under the canopy of a UNESCO-listed rainforest as a feeding flock moves through, and see hundreds of elephants gather on the grasslands of Minneriya.

We pool everything we have into every trip: the drivers and guides we personally trust, who know where the light falls and how to position a jeep for the frame rather than just the sighting. We know these parks in every season, and we'll put you in the right place at the right hour.

How we travel

What makes a Wildbound journey

  1. 01

    Curated by two photographers

We plan every stop together and are with you in the field throughout.

  2. 02

    The crews we trust

Drivers, trackers and naturalists we've worked with for years, briefed to position the jeep for the frame, not just the sighting.

  3. 03

    Built around the light

Pre-dawn starts and late finishes. We work the best hours, not a checklist.

  4. 04

    No day broken in half

Meals in the jeep on full-park days, so we never leave the field at midday.

  5. 05

    Small & private

Private vehicles and small groups, with every transfer and park fee handled.

  6. 06

    Ethical in the field

Engines off at sightings, respectful distances, and we never share the location of a den or nest.
