The expedition
Gal Oya is one of the few places in Asia where you can watch wild elephants swim. With very few visitors, it feels like a secret.
Day by day
- Day 1
Arrive in the east
Settle in at the edge of the park, with an evening walk in the surrounding forest.
- Day 2
Boat safari
Early on the water among the islands of Senanayake Samudra, watching for elephants crossing, then a jeep drive in the afternoon.
- Day 3
Morning on the water & onward
A final boat safari before you travel on.
